Key Selling Points
Highest strength grade for commercial grade pure titanium: Tensile strength ≥550 MPa and yield strength ≥485 MPa in the annealed state. With its high load-bearing capacity, it allows for thinner material thickness under equivalent operating conditions, reducing weight and lowering costs
Exceptional Broad Spectrum Corrosion Resistance: Features a stable passivation film that resists seawater, chloride ions, organic acids, moist chlorine gas, and most alkaline solutions. Resists crevice corrosion and pitting corrosion, making it suitable for harsh corrosive environments. Its long-term service life far exceeds that of stainless steel and carbon steel.
Lightweight Advantage: With a density of only 4.51 g/cm³—approximately 60% that of steel—it offers significant weight reduction and is ideal for structural components where weight is a critical factor.
Excellent Machinability: Can be bent, stamped, cut, welded, and machined; corrosion resistance remains intact after welding, eliminating the need for complex post-weld heat treatment to enhance strength
Stable Material with Controlled Impurities: Strict control over oxygen, iron, and hydrogen (interstitial elements); extremely low hydrogen content eliminates the risk of hydrogen embrittlement; high batch to batch consistency
Multiple Surface Options + Flexible Customization: Pickled surface, bright cold-rolled surface, sandblasted surface; can be cut, blanked, formed into small discs, or shaped into irregular blanks according to drawings
Full Batch Quality Inspection + Complete Certification: Spectral composition analysis, mechanical tensile testing, and ultrasonic testing (optional); MTC (Material Test Certificate) provided with each shipment; supports SGS and third party re inspection
Applications
Chemical Industry: Reactor linings, heat exchanger plates, columns, filtration components, acid and alkali transport equipment, electrolysis cell plates
Offshore Engineering: Seawater desalination equipment, seawater coolers, corrosion resistant marine components, subsea valves, marine sampling devices
Environmental Protection & Hydrometallurgy: Flue gas desulfurization and denitrification systems, electroplating equipment, waste liquid treatment equipment, extraction tanks
Pressure Vessels & Energy: High pressure corrosion resistant vessel linings, geothermal equipment, components for corrosive oil and gas environments
General Machinery: High load corrosion resistant tooling and fixtures, stamped titanium components
Other: Laboratory corrosion resistant equipment, electroplating anode substrates (Note: Medical implant grade Gr4 requires separate high-purity control in accordance with ASTM F67; industrial grade material ≠ implant-grade)
Tip: Selection guidance for Gr4 vs. Gr2: In corrosive environments with moderate loads, Gr2 is generally preferred for cost-effectiveness; for high-stress applications, higher structural strength requirements, or pressurized conditions, prioritize Gr4.
FAQ
A: Gr2 is a general purpose grade with moderate strength and a high cost-performance ratio; Gr4 offers the highest strength among pure titanium grades and is suitable for pressure bearing and high stress structural components, though it is more expensive than Gr2. For applications involving only corrosion without high loads, Gr2 is the preferred choice.
Q: Can industrial grade Gr4 be used directly for medical implants?
A: This product is industrial grade Gr4 titanium sheet; medical grade implants must be manufactured and inspected separately in accordance with ASTM F67 standards, requiring specialized cleanroom production and testing. The two grades must not be used interchangeably. Please specify medical requirements separately.
Q: Will welding titanium sheets cause rust or reduce corrosion resistance?
A: When titanium is welded under proper inert gas protection, a dense oxide passivation layer will still form after welding, and the corrosion resistance will be essentially the same as that of the base material.
Q: Can you send samples?
A: We offer small sample cutting and shipping; the sample fee and shipping costs can be refunded with a bulk order.
