Gr3 (TA3, UNS R50550) industrial pure titanium rod is a high-grade Titanium Material. It delivers higher tensile strength than Gr1 and Gr2 pure titanium while retaining outstanding corrosion resistance, stable ductility and reliable weldability. With a low density of only 4.51 g/cm³, it achieves exceptional specific strength for medium-load aerospace structural parts.
Our High Strength Gr3 Titanium Rod is manufactured with forging, hot rolling plus precision grinding technology. The finished surface is smooth, crack-free and flake-free with tightly controlled dimensional tolerances. We support cut-to-length processing, Titanium CNC Machining and full custom specifications. Every batch comes with official MTC material certificates and full traceability covering the whole production chain from raw Titanium Ingot to finished bar.
It is widely used to produce secondary load-bearing aircraft structures, brackets, pipe fittings and aviation fasteners, and has become a mainstream raw material for aerospace secondary structural engineering.
Wing brackets, fuselage support frames, tail assembly connecting parts and landing gear auxiliary structural components
Hydraulic pipeline fittings, air conditioning pipe connectors, fuel pipe support brackets and anti-vibration pipe clamps
Titanium bolts, nuts, studs and lock pins for airframe assembly; replacing steel fasteners to cut total assembly weight
Heat exchanger cores, cryogenic vessel components, instrument housings and ground aviation equipment structural parts
The global aerospace industry keeps raising material standards for secondary structural components. Manufacturers are developing low-interstitial Gr3 titanium with strictly controlled oxygen, iron and carbon content to enhance stability under cyclic flight loads. A growing number of aerospace OEMs are upgrading from Gr2 titanium to Gr3 grades for medium-load parts; Gr3 provides higher tensile strength without costly alloying elements, balancing lightweight performance and raw material cost effectively. New precision hot rolling and mirror surface grinding technologies eliminate surface micro-cracks, reducing fatigue failure risk under long-term vibration loads. Aerospace material procurement now requires full digital batch traceability; every Titanium Rod batch must carry complete spectroscopic and mechanical test data from ingot to finished product to support FAA and third-party quality audits. Many suppliers are also combining Gr3 titanium blanks with high-precision CNC machining to shorten prototype development cycles for custom aerospace structural parts.
Aerospace buyers have strict non-negotiable purchasing standards far above regular industrial orders. First, strict compliance with ASTM B348 and AMS titanium material specifications, with full MTC test certificates including chemical composition, tensile strength and fatigue performance data for FAA audits. Second, zero surface defects and ultra-tight dimensional tolerances to avoid material waste during downstream CNC machining; cracks, peeling and surface scratches are strictly prohibited for flight-grade components. Third, complete batch traceability plus optional non-destructive testing (eddy current & UT inspection) to eliminate internal inclusions and hidden fatigue cracks for load-bearing aviation parts. Fourth, flexible OEM customization including fixed-length cutting, chamfering, surface polishing and turning, with support for small trial prototype orders before large-batch mass production. Fifth, seaworthy rust-proof and moisture-proof export packaging plus stable lead times to avoid delays in aircraft component development schedules. Most aerospace contractors will reject suppliers who cannot provide third-party inspection reports and full custom machining support for titanium blanks.
Gr3 titanium rod for aerospace secondary structures is mainly governed by ASTM B348 (Standard Specification for Titanium and Titanium Alloy Bars and Billets), which defines chemical composition, mechanical performance, surface quality and sampling inspection rules. The unified material grade number is UNS R50550. For aviation projects, additional AMS material specifications and GJB military quality standards may be required for military aerospace programs.
All PSX Gr3 titanium rod products fully comply with ASTM B348 by default, and we can issue complete material test reports, non-destructive inspection documents and batch traceability records to meet FAA, CE and military aerospace certification audits.

We keep continuous investment in process optimization and own multiple patents for Titanium Tube, Titanium Forging and precision Titanium Bar processing, continuously improving material purity and dimensional accuracy for aerospace-grade raw materials.
Full Product Portfolio: We supply a complete range of titanium raw materials and finished parts: Titanium Rod, Titanium Flange, Titanium CNC Machining blanks, Titanium Alloy, Titanium Sheet and Titanium Shaped Parts, covering all aerospace secondary structural component manufacturing needs.
We provide full OEM customized processing including cutting, chamfering, polishing and turning strictly according to aerospace engineering drawings.

A1: Gr3 delivers higher tensile strength and anti-fatigue performance than Gr2 pure titanium. It withstands long-term cyclic vibration loads during flight without fracture, while still retaining excellent ductility and corrosion resistance without adding alloy elements.
A2: Yes. Gr3 titanium is only 60% the weight of steel with equivalent tensile strength. Switching aviation steel fasteners to Gr3 titanium fasteners can greatly cut overall airframe weight and reduce fuel consumption.
A3: We offer optional eddy current and UT non-destructive inspection services. All inspection documents together with MTC material certificates can be provided for FAA and aerospace project quality audits.
A4: Absolutely. We support small prototype trial orders as well as mass bulk production, with full OEM precision machining based on customer technical drawings.
Send your aerospace drawings, dimensional specifications and order quantity. We will provide factory-direct pricing, full MTC material certificates and custom OEM machining solutions within 24 working hours.
